  5. Squirrel control

    Domestic · Commercial

    Active

    Grey squirrel removal carried out legally, effectively and discreetly.

    Grey squirrels may look harmless but they cause serious damage — gnawing through roof timbers, insulation and electrical cables, and stripping bark from trees. Attempting to remove them yourself risks doing it illegally or ineffectively.

    DGS will assess the full scale of the problem on the first visit, identify the best removal method and reduce access to your property by blocking entry points and removing routes in. Trapping or other approved methods are used where needed — all carried out within current wildlife law.

    // Operational notes

    • Full site assessment on first visit to establish scale of infestation.
    • Entry points identified and blocked to prevent re-entry.
    • Trapping and approved removal methods used in compliance with the law.
    • Domestic roof spaces, outbuildings and commercial premises all covered.
  6. Bee nest removal

    Relocation preferred

    Active

    Responsible bee nest management — relocation where possible.

    With around 25% of bee species under threat, DGS always aims to relocate rather than destroy where it is safe and practical to do so. Bees are not protected by law in the UK, but the ethical approach is to preserve the colony wherever possible.

    On arrival we carry out a full survey — assessing nest location, access, colony size and whether relocation is viable given the time of year. If the nest can be safely moved, any structure removed to gain access will be reinstated. Some home insurance policies cover bee nest relocation — it is worth checking before you call.

    // Operational notes

    • Relocation prioritised over destruction wherever safe and practical.
    • Full survey on arrival: location, access, colony size and viability assessed.
    • Colony survival factored in — size and time of year both considered.
    • Any structure disturbed to access the nest is made good afterwards.

  1. Deer management

    PDS1 & PDS2 certified

    Active

    Accredited deer stalking and population management on private land.

    Deer are wild animals and an important part of our native habitat — but with wolves, bears and other natural predators long gone from the UK, populations can grow beyond what the land can sustain. Left unmanaged, that leads to serious ecological damage, crop losses and an increased risk of vehicle collisions.

    Effective deer management restores balance. It protects crops, landscapes and ground-nesting wildlife while keeping deer populations healthy. DGS provides professional, humane deer management across farms, estates, woodlands and private land in the Doncaster area — including bespoke management plans for sites with persistent pressure.

    // Operational notes

    • DGS holds PDS1 and PDS2 Deer Stalking Certificates — qualified to assessor level.
    • Lawful, ethical management on private estates, farms and woodlands.
    • Population surveys and long-term management plans available.
    • All operations carried out in compliance with the Deer Act 1991.
